Meet the EBCA Staff!

Ms. Pam has been teaching at East Brentwood Children’s Academy for more than twenty years. Pam is a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University and is continuing her education by pursuing a CDA certification from Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance. Pam spearheaded many curriculum initiatives over the past two decades and has been instrumental in the development of community relationships to benefit both EBCA staff and families. As Director, she brings her expertise and dedication to providing developmentally appropriate education and support to the students. Pam's background as a teacher gives her first-hand knowledge of what is needed, both for students and teachers, to be successful. Pam resides in Brentwood with her husband David and is thrilled to have her two daughters back in the area pursuing their own careers in education.

Amanda Cook

Assistant Director

Amanda Cook was born and raised in a suburb outside of New Orleans, Louisiana. Amanda graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Child Development. Amanda has worked previously in foster care and adoption, as well as a family social worker. Amanda also has 5 years of experience as a preschool teacher and then director of a Parents Day Out program. Amanda's education and career have always focused on her passion for helping children and families. Amanda says she feels privileged to work at EBCA on the administrative side and most of all enjoys when she gets to interact with the children and families. Amanda lives in Arrington with her husband, John, and their 3 boys- ages 11, 9, & 8. As a family, they enjoy traveling, being outdoors, SEC football (Geaux Tigers!), and serving within their church's children and adult ministries.

I'm Lynn and I'm now in my 22nd year as the Music Teacher at EBCA . I have also taken on the role of Operations Specialist this year. I really enjoy making sure things run smoothly for the teachers so this new job is perfect because it involves all things preschool. My husband, Ken, and I have been married for 30 years and have 2 grown children. Annie is 24, newly engaged and will get married in July 2022! She has a degree in Music Therapy from Arizona State University and is working as an Adult Program Manager/Music Therapist at the Memphis Recovery Center. Our son, Andy, is almost 21 and is a junior at the University of Tennessee. Both of our children attended this preschool and I just never left. This is a really special place where every day is a great adventure with amazing children!

Ms. Tina
Pre-Kindergarten Teacher
Curriculum Specialist

My name is Tina Dill and I am beginning my 7th year at EBCA. During my time at EBCA, I have primarily taught in the 3 year old classes, but this year I am excited to be teaching pre-k. I have also taken on a new role as Curriculum Coordinator which has been extremely rewarding. I have taught for many years in many different age groups, but teaching preschool quickly became my favorite. I began teaching because I have a passion for showing students that learning can be fun. The most rewarding part of teaching is watching the growth of each child during the year and watching each child discover his or her unique talents.

My name is Surbhi Arora. I joined the EBCA team in August 2021 and teach pre-k 4/5 year olds. I must say that this preschool is a ‘hidden gem’ in the neighborhood. It offers a nurturing environment for children and helps them develop into a complete human being. The staff are a loving family and share a respectful and caring relationship with each other. This is one of the greatest qualities of EBCA, as it trickles down to the children in many beautiful ways. I have worked with kids in different capacities in the past (I'm also a mom of 2 wonderful kids) and absolutely love it. I love helping a child succeed, be it academically, socially or emotionally. I look for positivity in every aspect and this combined with my ‘listening with patience’ are some of the helpful skill sets I bring to my classroom. I take pride in being a staff member at EBCA and highly recommend this preschool to everyone I know.

I was a High School teacher and have also been a substitute teacher for Elementary, Middle, and High School. My husband, John, and I have three children; Liza (21), Reece (19), and Karlie (16). In my free time, I enjoy going to the lake, working out, hiking, cooking, reading, and socializing.

Ms. Shannon

This will be my 6th year teaching at EBCA. I started working as a float one day a week then moved into the 3-year-old classroom working 2 days/week with Ms. Tina. Now I have moved on to teaching 3-year old's 5 days/ week! I have a T/TH 3-year-old class and a MWF 3-year-old class along with Ms. Icy as my co-teacher.

Before having kids and deciding to be a stay-at-home mom, I worked as a Fitness Trainer, a Director of Nutrition Services at a hospital and at a nursing home, a salesperson at Sysco Food Services and a Research Coordinator at Vanderbilt. My husband, Rod, and I are originally from Ohio and are big Buckeye fans. We moved to Brentwood in August 1998 for my husband's job. We have 3 teenage girls, Taylor who is 20 and a junior at UTK, Olivia who is 18 and a freshman at UTK and Brooke, who is 16 and an 11th grader at Ravenwood.

In my spare time I like to exercise, spend time with family and friends, go out to dinner and watch sports.

I'm Dana and I'm from Tampa, Florida. I graduated from the University of South Florida with a BA in Psychology. I moved to Nashville in 2016 and I love the weather! I've been teaching preschoolers for 5 years and it has truly given me purpose in life. Each day I get see the work I do improve the lives of young children. The community of EBCA is truly special. The support of the administration, church, fellow teachers, and the parents really allows me to love each day I get to come to work.

I moved to the Brentwood area four years ago and I'm thrilled to join the EBCA team. Outside of school I enjoy reading and spending time with my husband of twenty years, Jerry, and our children, Mia and Matthew. I am looking forward to getting to know the families at EBCA and having an exciting and fun year of learning.

Float/ Substitute

I'm Megan and my husband and I moved here from Iowa in 2006 after graduating from the University of Northern Iowa. Before having children I was in sales, first with Pella Window and Doors and then with Supernus Pharmaceuticals. I became a stay at home mom once we had our oldest and have been so thankful I could be at home with them. We have 2 kids along with a sweet hound dog mix and a very tubby cat. As the oldest of 4, I found my calling early as a caretaker. I love working with children and am happy to be able to help support the wonderful staff and teachers at EBCA.
